Dear Legionnaire,
Our next Legion meeting will be Wednesday, April 1st, at 7:00pm in the meeting room of the Independence Heritage Museum. This meeting is kept to one hour. The Museum is located on the corner of 2nd and C Street in Independence, 281 S. 2nd Street, across from the Post Office. Additional parking is available by the Post Office.
We have no Veteran of the Month scheduled for April.
There will be an informal gathering to recognize Vietnam Veterans Day at the first Vietnam Memorial in the state of Oregon located in veteran’s plaza corner of C ST. and Main in Independence on March 29 beginning at 1 PM. Steve Russell, American Legion post 33 will read the history of Vietnam Veterans Day. The proclamation from the city of independence from last year proclaiming the 29th as Vietnam Veterans Day will also be read. We will be raising a flag flown over the Capitol and afterword will walk across the street to Indy Commons, 154 S Main St, Independence, for cake, coffee and those of you care to share stories of your experience of Vietnam. If you want peaches and pound cake, you will need to bring your own. No ham and lima beans allowed. Look forward to visiting with you and hope you can make it.

5:00PM:Ceremony, Honoring our Vietnam Veterans and welcoming them Home.

Friends of the Monmouth Senior Center Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser is held the first Saturday of every month from 8:30 to10:30 at the Monmouth Senior Center, located at 180 Warren St S, Monmouth, Or 97361. The cost is $10.00 for all you can eat. Come join us.
